Meet New Home Curator
Troy Townsend
Troy is a Colorado native and has been a resident of the Highlands Neighborhood for more than 15 years. He views new construction as an opportunity to enhance the quality and sustainability of a neighborhood. Troy has also achieved
his designation of Certified Residential Specialist, a title shared with only about five percent of realtors nationwide.
Troy is a self-described “staunch advocate” of the northwest Denver neighborhood. He began remodeling older homes in the mid 1980s before going on to serve for six years in the U. S. Marines. After military service, Troy resumed the remodeling business, and bought his first house in the Highland neighborhood in 1991.
Troy and his family reside in the
East Highland neighborhood. Troy enjoys spending quality time with his family, and taking advantage of the great amenities the northwest Denver neighborhood has to offer. Troy also volunteers for Denver Digs Trees and bi-annual “neighborhood clean-ups” to help beautify and sustain quality of life in northwest Denver.
Meet New Home Curator
Bill Rickman
Bill’s love of real estate began in the mid 1970s as a real estate investor. A keen student of markets, neighborhoods, and area growth trends in Denver, Bill enjoys helping his clients with the research, market analysis, and insight to make the right purchasing and selling decisions. He is considered an expert in older and historic homes and neighborhoods, with skills in property rehabilitation, building and restoration. He is also knowledgeable in architectural styles and historical characteristics. In parallel with his real estate expertise, Bill spent 25 years as a design, advertising & marketing professional. He continues to use these skills to assist sellers and buyers.
Beyond his real estate endeavors, Bill is an active member of his community and local neighborhood associations. He is a former board member and president of HHNA and a current member of BRUN, WHNA & SLCG. He was appointed by Councilman Rick Garcia as a member of the Berkeley Park Master Plan Citizens Advisory Group and was also a member of the Northwest Denver Action Group that organized and hosted the candidate forums in the 2003 mayoral election.
Bill has lived in several northwest Denver neighborhoods over the past three decades, and today, he resides in Harkness Heights with his wife Gail. As a licensed pilot, custom car enthusiast, mountain biker and golfer, he enjoys traveling, attending motorsports events and spending time outdoors.
Meet Mortgage Banker
Jeff Laws
Jeff’s commitment to the neighborhood has manifested itself in many ways. His career led him down the mortgage banking path, and, and his wife, Jeanne joined him in 1992. Together they have helped more than 1,450 clients finance their home plans and dreams. Jeff also became involved in the local political scene, organizing the first neighborhood graffiti paint-out in conjunction with local real estate agent clients. In 1998 Jeff & Jeanne followed their lifelong dream to travel around the world for a year, and collected a unique set of perspectives in the meantime. Coming home to start afresh, Jeff partnered with former clients and co-workers in a new business venture, Horizons Real Estate Group. It offers real estate, mortgage, title and insurance services under one roof.
Alongside his role as Mortgage Banker for Fresh Denver Digs, Jeff is managing member and principal of New Horizons Mortgage Company (DBA Highland Mortgage Group and Horizons Real Estate Group, LLC). Prior to creating that venture, he worked for several years with Cherry Creek Mortgage Company and Margaretten & Company as a producing branch manager and a loan officer.
Jeff and Jeanne still live and work in northwest Denver, and their love and appreciation for older homes has taken them to their second dream house: this time, in the Regis area. Someday, they hope to live overseas – but with their roots firmly planted in northwest Denver, this is where they feel most at home.

Steve started working in northwest Denver in 1989, and has lived in a variety of the area’s neighborhoods including Potter Highlands, Sloan’s Lake, West Highlands and now, Berkeley.
When he is not selling homes, Steve spends a considerable amount of time volunteering in his community on a year-round basis.
